It is stories like Shubhankar Dey that make having a league like the Premier Badminton League (PBL) worthwhile.Shubhankar Dey took the court for Bengaluru Blasters at PBL for the very first time and pulled off a huge upset over Chennai Smashers ' Brice Leverdez 15-12, 15-12.

Shubhankar has a few titles to his name on the international circuit, more on Challenger levels, but people had not really seen him in action.So when he turned up on court against France's Leverdez instead of Bengaluru's regular Chong Wei Fang, it was a surprise.
