COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou Cross Country junior Karissa Schweizer (Urbandale, Iowa) capped off a terrific cross country season by winning the NCAA Womens Cross Country Championship on Saturday in Terre Haute, Ind. Schweizer becomes Mizzous first female National Champion in cross country and the first in program history since Keith Bacon won the National Title in 1955. The Tiger junior becomes Mizzous 27th overall individual National Champion.Schweizer is Mizzous first All-American since 2003 when Amanda Bales finished 23rd.Schweizer stayed near the front of the pack for the majority of the race, but trailed Michigans Erin Finn down the final stretch.
