SUVA， Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- Fiji is seeking stronger ties with Israel， the Fijian government said on Tesday.


At a meeting in Jerusalem with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu， Fijian Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has discussed ways to deepen bilateral ties between the two countries， particularly in advancing agricultural cooperation， according to Fiji's Department of Information.


""The meeting covered the proposed memorandum of understanding between Fiji and Israel on agriculture. Given the impact of Cyclone Winston， the two men explored the inclusion of more tailored approaches to crop production and farming practices that are better suited to the changing weather conditions caused by climate change，"" the department said in a statement.


Bainimarama also extended an invitation to Netanyahu to visit Fiji.


The meeting was a part of a three-day visit to Israel by the Fijian prime minister. Bainimarama is scheduled go on to Lebanon where he will meet with his Lebanese counterpart and visit Fijian UN peacekeepers.

He said that Nawaz Sharif has never been involved in corruptionand he would be re-elected as the country's prime minister in thefuture.


Regarding the country's economy, he said one of the top agendain his mind is to promote the country's tax culture.
