Time for y’all to go to bed.”Soon after, Adam Schefter reported contract details in line with what many had speculated: $140 million over four years.With the new contact, Wilson becomes not only the highest-paid pro athlete in Seattle history, but also the highest-paid player in the NFL, surpassing Aaron Rodgers. Congratulations quickly came in from teammates past and present.Wilson, John Schneider and Pete Carroll thus avoid carrying protracted negotiations through the NFL draft and the summer, and the use of the franchise tag. Now Wilson’s a Seahawk through 2023. Well that was easy, wasn’t it? The Seattle Seahawks took care of business in London against an Oakland Raiders team that may or may not be tanking. Either way, they’re absolutely one of the worst teams in the NFL. They’re certainly the worst in the AFC now that the Buffalo Bills have established their defense at least formidable. This was a one-sided whipping that could’ve been even more lopsided if not for penalties and some shoddy third-down defense in the first-half. It was a complete shutdown of a Raiders offense that ranked 13th in DVOA entering this week, and Derek Carr only averaged 2.9 yards per dropback.Let’s get to Winners and Losers, which really won’t have many losers when it’s a 27-3 thumping.WinnersFrank ClarkAnother 2.5 sacks for Frank Clark, with two leading to strip-sack turnovers. He’s in a contract year and he has 5.5 sacks before the bye week. I said that he should have a great day against a Raiders o-line that has the trifecta of injuries, inexperience, and being coached by Tom Cable, and that’s what happened. Poor Kolton Miller never had a chance. Jarran ReedHe was a disruptive force in the interior yet again! Reed had a fumble recovery and a sack, giving him four for the year. Seattle has missed a Brandon Mebane type of defensive tackle since his departure in 2016. I believe Reed is fulfilling that role excellently right now.The rest of the pass rushQuinton Jefferson Womens Tre Flowers Jersey , Branden Jackson, and Shamar Stephen had the remaining 2.5 sacks, and everyone including rookie DE Jacob Martin had flashes of excellence against the Raiders OL. Great to see, even adjusting for quality of competition. Russell WilsonApart from a poor interception, Wilson had few faults. A very efficient 17/23 for 222 yards, and 3 touchdown passes to take him to 13 TDs and just 4 INTs. He looked... well, he didn’t look 100% on scrambles, but he still chipped in 20 yards rushing. That touchdown throw to David Moore was classic Wilson, keeping a play alive after fumbling the snap. These last two games have been strong from #3, and his third-down passing was extremely on point on Sunday.David MooreMaybe Moore is a flash in the pan feasting against questionable secondaries. Maybe he’s emerging as a potential breakout star. Whatever the case, David Moore is looking awesome out there. Two catches for 47 yards and a touchdown, and his contested catch along the sidelines in tight coverage was arguably his best play as a Seahawk. There’s a reason why Seattle was high on him entering preseason, and he’s shown himself to be quite impressive with his limited targets.Doug BaldwinDougie isn’t 100%. Not even close, in fact. He still caught six passes for 91 yards and could’ve had a touchdown if not for Wilson just missing him on a deep play-action shot. After just one catch for a yard the previous week, Baldwin still had some vintage Baldwin moments and was the Seahawks’ leading receiver. Heal up during the bye week, Doug!Tyler LockettHe only had 3 catches for 13 yards (plus 7 yards rushing), but he added to his touchdown total with his fifth on the season. He’s only one away from matching his career-high, which was back in his rookie year. Tyrone SwoopesGets called up last-minute on Saturday and has a catch for 23 yards on an opening drive third-down conversion. I am only slightly disappointed that the 18-Wheeler Package was used in short-yardage.Brian Schottenheimer and Mike SolariSchottenheimer had a sound gameplan to exploit holes in the Raiders defense — weaknesses include run defense and pass defense — while Solari’s group once again kept Wilson relatively clean, giving up only a coverage sack. The running backs also racked up 123 yards on 27 carries, and it would’ve been more if not for the penalties. Going back to the offensive line, Germain Ifedi looks like a different player, has cut down on the flags Womens Alex McGough Jersey , and seems a lot more confident and steady in both facets of blocking, while J.R. Sweezy has low-key been a terrific low-cost, high upside signing.LosersQuinton JeffersonHis face mask penalty on Derek Carr was his sixth penalty of the season, tied for most in the NFL. I know he had a garbage roughing call against the Dallas Cowboys earlier in the year, but he is nevertheless a penalty machine and doesn’t have remotely the productivity to offset those problems. These issues are tiresome and will be a lot more costly against better opposition.Chris Myers and Daryl JohnstonI really don’t have any other Seahawks to put on the Losers list, so I’m just going to rip into how bad the NFL on FOX commentators were. Chris Myers started the game by thinking a Tyler Lockett run was actually a Chris Carson handoff. The first punt by the Seahawks was courtesy of “Michael Dickerson.” Daryl Johnson called Russell Wilson “Russell Williams.” On the Lockett touchdown, Myers misidentified him has Jaron Brown. He called Martavis Bryant “Martavius Bryant.” Once again we were treated to Rashaad Penny being called “Rashard” over and over. This is FOX’s mid-tier crew! That’s scary. They were terrible and I hope they aren’t on a Seahawks game for the rest of the season. I didn’t think it was possible to downgrade from Dick Stockton and Mark Schlereth.Marshawn LynchHe doesn’t deserve to be on that garbage Raiders team.13 carries for 45 yards and still busting his ass for his hometown franchise that is soon to move to Las Vegas. Could you imagine Marshawn behind this current Seahawks OL? RefereesAbe Vigoda lookalike Pete Morelli and his bumbling crew called 13 accepted penalties, 8 on Seattle and 5 on Oakland. Doug Baldwin got penalized for delay of game for “spiking the ball” in frustration after slipping on a third-down play. I’ve never seen that called before. They robbed Seattle of a takeaway when Seth Roberts was ruled down by contact when he fumbled and the Seahawks clearly recovered. They obviously wanted a lot of TV time and got it. FOX also was decidedly not interested in providing us replays of many of these penalties, either. Final NotesDid you see Poona Ford ankle tackle Marshawn Lynch on what should’ve been an easy rush for a first-down? Awesome to see that.I got on Justin Coleman for poor tackling last week, it continued into the start of this week, then he cleared things up with a nice stop on Jared Cook and a forced fumble on Seth Roberts that the refs botched. Bradley McDougald decked Amari Cooper on what looked to be a shoulder-to-helmet hit, with Cooper lowering his helmet and McDougald delivering the boom. Hopefully Cooper is okay, as he went out with a concussion, and on a related note, he’s reportedly on the trading block.Rashaad Penny had 11 touches for 70 yards and also a muffed kickoff. Frankly, he still doesn’t look particularly quick or elusive, but he executed a screen pass perfectly on the opening possession and helped burn the final eight minutes of clock so that the defense never had to go back out there. It’s still early days, so maybe more opportunities will come for him after the bye week.Jaron Brown goes two weeks without a target and his only target of this game was a touchdown. Go figure!Jon Gruden is totally going to bench Derek Carr this season. You can see the disdain in his face watching Carr look so feckless. That 2016 campaign was his peak and it’s obvious that they need to move on soon. Maybe they’ll tank for Tua Tagavailoa in 2020.Oh yes, the Seahawks scored an opening drive touchdown for the first time since the 2016 season. The streak is dead! Enemy Reaction is coming on Monday!
