Tips for Finding the Right Mobile Device Repair Shop in Hawaii
Posted by mobileremedies on September 5th, 2014
To find reliable mobile phone, tablet, game system, PC and laptop repairs in Hawaii, first do some research on different repair centers to find those who offer the highest all-around quality service.
Portable electronic devices are now an integral part of our lifestyles. Dealing with a broken iPad, iPod or cellphone for example, can really be inconvenient and depressing. Suddenly, our day is filled with trying to find receipts and insurance policies and trying to remember if we backed up our data recently. We begin jumping through hoops and trying to figure out how to get a replacement device quickly without paying an arm and a leg for it! We have been conditioned to think that replacement with a new one is our only option. Not so! In today’s world, especially in Hawaii, repairing your portable electronic device is almost always cheaper and easier than replacing it. Whether your device fell in the toilet, has a cracked screen, a broken charge port or a software malfunction, you can often have it fixed, recover your data and get a 1-year warranty on parts and labor for less than your insurance deductible!
It is important however to choose your professional repair service wisely if you hope to get the most value for your money. It isn’t hard to find a repair shop online in Hawaii. Looking up cellphone repair Hawaii, iPad repair Hawaii or iPod repair Hawaii on a search engine reveals dozens of results. But how can you tell which is the right mobile device repair shop for you?
The 5 Most Important Factors to Consider:
1. Up-Front Costs:The best repair centers will provide you with a free diagnostic look at your device and an estimate of the repair cost. This lets you compare prices and decide whether repair is the right solution. Beware of those that require an up-front labor fee regardless of the outcome. The highest quality repair centers will only charge you if they can fix your device and restore it to its original condition. That way if you do have to replace it, you haven’t wasted any money on a failed repair. Replacing your device without at least checking out the repair option is no longer a smart choice.
2.Warranty: Good repair shops are willing to back up their work. The longer the warranty, the more confident the company is in its own repair process, including the skill of its technicians and the quality of its replacement parts. With some repair centers you can get a 1-year warranty similar to that of a new device. Some companies will honor their warranty even if you can’t find your receipt for the initial repair! Call and ask about these things before you take or send in your device.
3. Speed of Repair: Some centers can repair your device while you wait or run a short errand. More than anything, the availability of replacement parts determines the time required for repair. Larger companies keep more parts in stock and have more technicians available to work on devices as they come in and so can usually complete the repairs faster. Common devices with common problems take less time. Get a realistic estimate of your repair time before coming to a final decision in choosing a repair center.
4.Price: As with any good business, the best repair centers will have competitive prices but it shouldn’t be your only consideration. Remember that the price also reflects the quality of the replacement parts and the warranty. This does not mean that you shouldn’t look for the best price but suggests that for expensive devices like the iPad, if the deal looks too good to be true, you should think twice about choosing a repair center based only on saving a few dollars. Make sure you discuss those first three factors as well.
