Michael Campanaro put on IR The Titans are activating Rishard Matthews off of PUP and adding Michael Campanaro to IR today. This is obviously good news for the Titans passing game as they get their leading wide receiver back with enough time to get him up at least partially back in the swing of things before the regular season starts in two weeks. Where Matthews slots in will be interesting. The guess here would be that he’s the starting receiver across from Corey Davis in 2-wide receiver sets. It’s hard to say who moves to the slot when they go to 11 personnel though. In practices and the preseason we have seen Nick Williams working in the slot with the first team offense while Davis http://www.tennesseetitansteamonline.com/wesley-woodyard-jersey , Tajae Sharpe, and Taywan Taylor have worked outside for the most part. Will Matt LaFleur stick with a dedicated slot wide receiver like Williams between Davis and Matthews or will he try to get the best three receivers on the field and bump a guy like Davis http://www.tennesseetitansteamonline.com/dennis-kelly-jersey , Matthews, or Taylor in to the slot? That’s one of the biggest questions left heading in to the regular season.Adding Campanaro to the injured reserve means that the Titans could hold on to his rights during the season without using a roster spot. It also means that Nick Williams or Deontay Burnett’s odds of making the 53-man roster increase. Williams has to be considered the prohibitive favorite at this point http://www.tennesseetitansteamonline.com/kenny-vaccaro-jersey , but Burnett has an outside chance as well. The Titans should hold steady in most power rankings around the internet today after being on the bye. This exercise gets easier and easier with each passing week because we pretty much know what teams are at this point. I have been trying to identify teams that I still might be too high or too low on. The one that stood out to me this week was the Washington Redskins. They are apparently better than I have been giving them credit for. They are 5-2 and have a 2 game lead in the NFC East. I still don’t think they are a Super Bowl contender, but I did bump them up a little bit this week. Here are my week 9 NFL power rankings:Los Angeles Rams (LW:1)Kansas City Chiefs (LW:2)New Orleans Saints (LW:3)New England Patriots (LW:4)Los Angeles Chargers (LW:6)Minnesota Vikings (LW:5)Carolina Panthers (LW:7)Philadelphia Eagles (LW:9)Pittsburgh Steelers (LW:10)Green Bay Packers (LW:8)Atlanta Falcons (LW:11)Cincinnati Bengals (LW:13)Baltimore Ravens (LW:12)Washington Redskins (LW:17)Chicago Bears (LW:15)Houston Texans (LW:18)Detroit Lions (LW:14)Seattle Seahawks (LW:20)Tampa Bay Buccaneers (LW:16)Miami Dolphins (LW:19)Tennessee Titans (LW:21)Indianapolis Colts (LW:27)Jacksonville Jaguars (LW:22)Denver Broncos (LW:23)Dallas Cowboys (LW:24)New York Giants (LW:25)Cleveland Browns (LW:26)Arizona Cardinals (LW:30)New York Jets (LW:28)San Francisco 49ers (LW:29)Buffalo Bills (LW:31)Oakland Raiders (LW:32)
