VIENTIANE， Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- The Lao Boxing Federation is scheduled to hold the 11th national boxing competition for young male and female boxers from Friday to Sunday this week in capital Vientiane.
The boxing competition hopes to help select boxers in different categories， including the U14， U16， U17， U25， U26 and U30 divisions to compete in four different international events in neighboring countries in 2017.
After selecting the best boxers， the federation will continue to train them at the sports training center before they compete in the international events， reported local Vientiane Times on Thursday.
Boxers at the junior level will compete at the Boxing Championships of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in Thailand in March 2017， while the youth level boxers will compete at the Asian Boxing Championship in Thailand in July 2017.
Laos will also compete at the 29th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Malaysia in August 2017， and the Asian Women's Boxing Championships in Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City in October 2017.

JAKARTA, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- The number of evacuees has risen to more than 134,000 in Bali resort island of Indonesia as a volcano could imminently erupt, a disaster agency official said on Thursday.
The 3,031-meter Mount Agung volcano in Karang Asem district is in the highest alert status with continuing hike of seismic activity.
"The push of magma to the surface keeps happening," Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, spokesman of the country's national disaster management agency told Xinhua.
Aids for the evacuees taking shelters at more than 480 evacuation centers keep flowing in and they are sufficient for one month, he added.
