It appears the fears of a long-term injury to Detroit Lions punt returner Jamal Agnew were not hasty. On Tuesday Cheap Customized Detroit Lions Jerseys , special teams coordinator Joe Marciano told reporters that the team was in the beginning stages of preparing a long-term replacement for Agnew as the team’s punt returner: Agnew was injured in the final quarter of Sunday’s game against the Packers when his knee bent awkwardly while tumbling towards the end zone. He was carted off after getting some help off the field. Former NFL doctor David J. Chao believes the video of the injury suggests he may have suffered a torn ACL, but the video, he admits, is inconclusive. It’s interesting that Marciano suggests Agnew’s replacement will be an internal choice. The Lions could turn to Golden Tate on punt returns, as the veteran receiver has averaged 10.7 yards per return on 90 career punt returns. The Lions could also use Brandon Powell or Ameer Abdullah on returns. Abdullah was active for the first time this past Sunday and quickly assumed kick returning duties from Agnew. He has yet to log a punt return in his NFL career, however. You’d have to go back to his sophomore year at Nebraska to find his last punt return—way back in 2012. But the Lions won’t need to just replace Agnew on special teams. The All Pro punt returner was just starting to emerge as an option for the Lions’ nickel cornerback spot. Agnew played in at least 10 defensive snaps in all five games this year, including 44 against the Patriots. With injuries mounting up in the secondary—Teez Tabor left Sunday’s game www.thelionsfootballauthentic.com , while Quandre Diggs played with a cast, and Tavon Wilson missed the game entirely—don’t be surprised to see the Lions make an addition to the back end of the roster.Detroit Lions approval poll: Bob Quinn (October 2018) When we last touched base about Detroit Lions general manager Bob Quinn, people were steaming mad. The Lions were 0-2, and a couple of Quinn’s second round picks—A’Shawn Robinson and Teez Tabor—weren’t making the slightest of contributions. As a result, the GM polled in at just a 26 percent approval rate, his lowest by over 40 percentage points. Since that game, the Lions have gone 2-1 Detroit Lions T-Shirt , and Quinn’s rookie class has been a big part of that. Frank Ragnow has locked down the left guard position nicely, Kerryon Johnson is arguably the best rookie running back right now, Tracy Walker has made nice plays in a limited role, and Da’Shawn Hand is a beast. But before we get into this week’s approval poll, let’s look back at Quinn’s history with the fanbase:September 2018: 26 percent approvalMay 2018: 89 percent approvalMarch 2018: 83 percent approval February 2018: 92 percent approvalNovember 2017: 78 percent approvalOctober 2017: 82 percent approvalAugust 2017: 95 percent approvalJune 2017: 93 percent approvalApril 2017: 97 percent approvalFebruary 2017: 93 percent approvalDecember 2016: 96 percent approvalAugust 2016: 70 percent approvalJune 2016: 86 percent approvalApril 2016: 74 percent approvalFebruary 2016: 72 percent approvalIn addition to the emergence of Quinn’s impressive rookie class, a few of the team’s most puzzling moves have turned out for the better. One of the most hated decisions by Quinn was adding Romeo Okwara for Anthony Zettel, but Lions fans have quickly forgotten about redwood trees’ No. 1 enemy after Okwara’s two-sack performance against the Packers. But we can’t pretend here that Quinn is a flawless mastermind. One of his most notable free agency signings this offseason—Sylvester Williams—has lost his starting job already and played in just one snap against the Packers. And while guys like Kenny Golladay and Jamal Agnew have played well above their draft position Detroit Lions Hats , a few picks still stick out as potential busts. Teez Tabor, Miles Killebrew and Jarrad Davis have yet to live up to expectations, and the clock is running out for a couple of those guys. So putting that all together, are you confident that Bob Quinn is the right man for the job? Do you think he’s doing enough as the Detroit Lions general manager? Vote in the poll below:
